WASD Mission

Women's Action for Social Development (WASD) is working to defend women's rights in Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and throughout Africa. Women in many areas in Africa are facing inadequate living conditions, and have been victims of abuse, rape, and torture since the war.

Among the many things WASD works toward are:

  • Defending and protecting women's rights

  • Assisting and rehabilitating women's grassroots development program levels

  • Empowering women to participate in all aspects of social, political, economic, and cultural life

  • Working to improve socio-economic living conditions of women in desperate conditions.

You can help by donating time and money to the Women's Action for Social Development. Please click here for information on donating to WASD, or e-mail RIDPA for more information.
